Twenty years after I started the first LETS (Local Exchange Trading Network) in London as a “Green Money Network”, the next generation is coming forward in Lewes – with 70 traders on board. I guess London is simply too hard a society to ‘crack’ and connect in the way that local communities trade and interact with each other.
LETS teaches ‘mutual credit’ – the best possible basis for ‘digital money’ as well. And thus I look forward to participating in the Everyday Digital Money workshop at the University of Irvine next week.
